We read everything that arrives. We aim to reply within two business days; bug reports usually get a same-day acknowledgement so you know it landed.
Reporting a calculation error
These reports matter more than any other message we get, and several of our current coverage defaults exist because someone checked our output against a real project. To let us reproduce the problem, please include:
- Which calculator — paint, concrete, or flooring.
- Your exact inputs. Every field you filled in, including which dropdown option you picked.
- The result the tool gave you.
- What you expected instead, and how you arrived at that figure — your own arithmetic, a contractor's quote, the amount actually used on the job.
- If relevant, the share link. The "Copy" button generates a URL containing your inputs, which lets us load your exact scenario in one click.
Point 4 is the one people skip and the one we need most. "This looks high" tells us something is wrong; "I used 11 gallons on this room, not 14" tells us by how much and lets us find the cause.
Other enquiries
- Coverage rates and methodology. If you think a default is out of date or does not match a product's current data sheet, send us the sheet. We will update the figure and credit you.
- Data and privacy requests. Access, correction, deletion, or opt-out requests are handled through the same address. See our privacy policy for what we hold, which in practice is almost nothing.
- Advertising and partnerships. We do not sell placement or accept payment to change a default value, so we are unlikely to be able to help with commercial proposals.
- Corrections to published content. If a guide on this site contains a factual error, tell us the page and the sentence.
What we cannot help with
Questions like "how much load can this slab carry" or "is my subfloor level enough to tile" need someone standing in the space with the right instruments. A calculator cannot answer them, and we would rather say so than give you a number you might build on.
Before you write
Most estimation questions are already answered on the tool page itself — each calculator documents its formula, its coverage assumptions, and a worked example below the inputs. Checking that section first is usually faster than waiting for a reply, and if it does not answer your question, that is itself worth telling us, because it means the explanation needs work.
