1. Information we collect
EasyCalc is built to work without collecting personal information. Specifically:
- We do not require an account. There is no signup form, no login, and no user database.
- Your measurements stay on your device. Room dimensions, material quantities, and cost figures are calculated client-side. They are not transmitted to us.
- Share links are stored in the URL. When you use the "Copy" button, your inputs are encoded into the link itself so it can be reopened later. Anything you share this way is visible to whoever receives the link — do not share links containing information you consider sensitive.
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs when your browser requests a page. These logs may include your IP address, user agent, referring page, and timestamp. We use them only to diagnose technical faults and to understand aggregate traffic levels.
2. Cookies and Google advertising
We use cookies for two narrow purposes: to remember interface preferences, and — once advertising is active — to serve ads.
Google AdSense and the DoubleClick cookie
This site displays advertisements served by Google. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- These cookies do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or physical address.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
Third-party ad networks, including Google, may also use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalise the advertising content you see. EasyCalc does not control these cookies and cannot access the data they collect.
How to control cookies
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking advertising cookies will not break any calculator on this site — the tools themselves need no cookies to function. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating networks via the Digital Advertising Alliance or, if you are in the EU/UK, Your Online Choices.
3. Analytics
We use aggregate analytics to understand which calculators are useful and where users get stuck. This data is reported in aggregate form only — for example, "the flooring calculator was opened 400 times this week" — and is not used to build profiles of individual visitors.
4. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of that data.
- Object to processing, or request that processing be restricted.
- Request a portable copy of your data.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because we do not operate user accounts, we generally hold no data that can be tied back to you. If you believe we do, use the contact details below and we will respond.
5. Children's privacy
EasyCalc is a general-audience set of home improvement tools. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
6. External links
Our articles occasionally link to manufacturer specification sheets, building code references, or retailer pages for illustration. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. When we do, we revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for at least 30 days.
